Dormer window restoration and exterior painting.

Recently, I completed an exterior painting project on a 1980s property in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The client wanted to refresh a number of dormer windows situated high on the roof, giving the property a sharper, more contemporary appearance while retaining traditional detailing.

The dormer windows were finished in Farrow & Ball Pitch Black, while the surrounding timberwork was painted in a traditional oil-based black gloss to create a striking contrast and a durable exterior finish.

As with any professional exterior decorating project, preparation was key. Before any paint was applied, all surfaces were thoroughly cleaned, sanded, and prepared to ensure maximum adhesion and longevity. Careful masking and taping were carried out to achieve crisp lines and protect surrounding surfaces.

One of the more challenging aspects of this project was access. The dormer windows were positioned at a steep elevation on the roof, requiring extensive ladder work and careful planning throughout the job. Working safely at height is an important part of exterior decorating, and years of experience using ladders allowed me to access every area while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

The finished result completely transformed the appearance of the property. The deep, rich tones of Farrow & Ball Pitch Black complemented the architecture of the house beautifully, while the gloss surrounds provided a traditional finish that will stand up to the British weather for years to come.

If you're looking for a painter and decorator in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, or the surrounding areas, I offer professional interior and exterior decorating services, including timber window restoration, exterior painting, wallpaper hanging, woodwork finishing, and full property redecoration.
